Parenting

Being a parent is hard work! Why is it so hard? Parenting is hard because we are invested in trying to provide the very best life we can for our children. There are many other factors that contribute to parenting difficulties including: parent/child temperament fit, divorce, other family or parent stress, mental health issues in the family, trauma, unresolved issues from your own childhood and communication issues.

At Collaborative Counseling we are qualified to help parents work through their own struggles and also how to best support your child through their difficulties they might be going through. It is also important to remember that you do not have to be a perfect parent to raise happy, healthy and successful children. Being a good enough parent who is loving, supportive and who is there to talk to their child when they need it is all that is needed for good outcomes.
